Detail: Our last exhibit for the 2008-09 season is a powerful exhibit of photographs
from the Oaxaca, Mexico resistance combined with original political posters from
art collectives there. Oaxaca is the site of a massive social movement which
began with a teacher’s union strike in October 2006 and has spread to include
protests of a sweeping revolutionary nature. Ongoing political struggle there
continues in the form of community organizing for truly democratic
representation. Films and presentations on this struggle will accompany the
